NICKEL-HYDROGEN STORAGE BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel-hydrogen storage battery capable of restraining long-term degradation by controlling volume of hydrogen permeating the battery case. SOLUTION: Of the nickel-hydrogen battery equipped with the battery case 12 and an electrode plate group arranged inside the case, the battery case 12 is provided with a case main body 11 having an opening and a lid body 11a sealing the opening. The battery case 12 includes a first part consisting of a laminated body of metal alone or metal and resin and a second part consisting of resin alone. An area of the first part is not less than 20% and not more than 90% of a total area of the case, with an average thickness of the second part of not less than 0.7 mm and not more than 2.5 mm, and a hydrogen permeation coefficient of the resin forming the second part at 40°C of not less than 2×10-15(mol m)/(m2sec Pa) and not more than 1×10-14(mol m)/(m2sec Pa).
