PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check the configurations of all client computers using similar procedures and integrally control the conditions of the computers; and to easily obtain control data from client computers not connected to a network, using a data format similar to those of the client computers connected to the network. SOLUTION: Predetermined information to be controlled, which is stored in the storage device of each client computer, is collected for the control of the client computers. This client computer control system includes a means 11 for storing the information to be controlled and a list of control information in each client computer; a means 16 for referring to places of storage contained in the list of control information to extract the information to be controlled from the computers; and a means 17 for compiling the extracted results into a data file of the format designated for the control of the computers and storing the data file in an external storage device.
