PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant and rubber-modified styrene-based resin composition which is suitable for use in an electric/electronic appliance, can suppress an irregular color phenomenon that is apt to occur in a large and thin molded product having a plurality of weld parts, and is excellent in the balance between areal impact strength, Charpy impact strength, stiffness, flowability, and flame retardance. SOLUTION: The flame retardant and rubber-modified styrenic resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of component (A): a rubber-modified styrenic resin composition and 1-30 pts.wt. of component (B): a flame retarder. Wherein the component (A): a rubber-modified styrenic resin composition is produced by a method for polymerizing a polymerization stock solution obtained by dissolving a butadiene-based rubber in a solution of styrenic monomer with addition of a polymerization initiator, and further as the polymerization initiator there are used an organic peroxide (a) having a 10-hr half-life temperature of 75-108°C in 0.0001-0.0006 equivalent weight against the styrene monomer and an organic peroxide (b) having a 10-hr half-life temperature of 110-130°C in 0.00005-0.0003 equivalent weight against the styrene monomer.
