PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a vehicle body fixing bracket from being moved in an axial direction of a housing and cause a stable supporting of the housing to be attained even if an external force is applied to the vehicle body fixing bracket outwardly fitted to the housing supporting a steering column. SOLUTION: This steering device comprises a steering shaft 2 for steering wheels connected at both ends of the steering shaft; a cylindrical housing 1 for supporting the steering shaft 2; a cylindrical restricting member 8 internally fitted to and fixed to one end part of the housing 1 so as to restrict an amount of motion of the steering shaft 2; and a bracket 6 outwardly fitted to one end of the housing 1. The bracket 6 is fixed to the vehicle body. A holding part 82 integrally formed with the restricting member 8 so as to hold the bracket 6 at both sides of the housing 1 in its axial length between the restricting member 8 and a part 15 of the housing 1 is provided.
