PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for electrophoresis for efficiently electrostatically charging migration particles in a dispersion medium and to provide an electrophoretic display device and electrophoretic display element having excellent responsiveness and contrast characteristic by using the ink composition. SOLUTION: The ink composition for electrophoresis in which the charged particles migrate by responding to the electric field impressed thereto is prepared by using an aprotic solvent as the dispersion medium. The charged particles are mainly composed of a pigment, a resin compound and a potential setting agent of≤5wt% in solubility in the aprotic solvent. The manufacturing of the ink composition is performed by dispersing the pigment, the resin compound and the potential setting agent into a good solvent capable of dissolving the resin compound and the potential setting agent and mixing the obtained dispersion solution and the aprotic solvent with which the resin compound and the potential setting agent are hardly soluble, and forming the charged particles containing the pigment, the resin compound and the potential setting agent by coacervation.
