PURPOSE: A method for checking reception of an SMS is provided to allow a sender to receive a message ACK signal from a receiver, in the case that the receiver confirms a message transmitted by the sender. CONSTITUTION: A message is created(S201). It is checked whether a sender selects a reception check service(S202). If the sender selects the reception check service, the message is transmitted to a base station and the base station sends the message to a receiver(S203). It is checked whether the receiver confirms the message(S205). If the receiver confirms the message, a reception check signal is automatically transmitted to the base station and the base station transmits the reception ACK signal to the sender(S206).
