PURPOSE: A radio communication device and method for a multi-transmission/reception antenna system are provided to form a plurality of space sub-channels and effectively allocate them to a plurality of users. CONSTITUTION: The kth user terminal estimates radio channel characteristics between itself and a base station by using a downlink pilot signal, restores sub-channel allocation information from a downlink control signal from the base station, and receives data for the kth user that is transmitted to a data channel(300). The kth user terminal determines information on a maximum transfer rate that can be transmitted through sub-channels and transmits it through the kth uplink feedback channel(310). The base station restores the maximum transfer rate information and generates sub-channel allocation information and transfer rate allocation information(320). The base station generates a downlink control signal with the sub-channel allocation information and generates a data signal for transmitting data of users determined according to the sub-channel allocation information through the M number of sub-channels formed through space multiplexing by using the transfer rate allocation information(330).
