PURPOSE: A hydraulic clutch apparatus with a clutch unit placed in a clutch housing is provided to improve energy efficiency in the limited space by arranging the clutch unit between the clutch housing and a pump wheel with simple structure. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic clutch apparatus is composed of a pump wheel and a turbine wheel to form a hydraulic circuit(104) in a clutch housing, and a drive wall of the clutch housing is connected to a drive unit opposed to the drive unit such as an internal combustion engine. A clutch unit(43) is formed in the hydraulic clutch apparatus to combine or disassemble the clutch housing from the pump wheel, and placed in the clutch housing. The clutch unit is composed of a separation wall(46), and the boundary of the hydraulic circuit is formed by the side of the separation wall. A control chamber(77) of the clutch unit is surrounded by a takeoff-side housing wall opposed to the gearbox, and connected to a pressure supply system by the first control line.
