Machine for mowing of stalk-like crop

When the device (10) is moved across the field the stalks (24) are separated by pointed deflectors (22) and pulled out and transported by units (14) positioned between the deflectors (22) to a transversal duct (26) located at the back of the unit (10). Two slightly tilted drums (20) move the stalks (24) to the main duct (18). The pulling and transporting units (14) are fitted with drums positioned on top of the rotating disks (32) provided with radial extensions in order to apply a suitable force on the stalks (24) in particular when only the last rows or extremely heavy cobs have to be harvested.
