摘要 PURPOSE: A PLC(Planar Lightwave Circuit) device using passive alignment of an optical axis is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost by aligning passively an optical axis between a PLC and an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: A PLC device includes a substrate and an optical fiber guide groove. A PLC type optical circuit is formed on the substrate(120). The optical fiber guide groove is formed on the substrate on which an optical fiber corresponding to an input terminal and an output terminal of an optical waveguide is arranged by an optical axis. The optical fiber guide groove is extended from each end part of the optical waveguide. The optical fiber guide groove includes a coating fiber guide(125) for guiding a coating part of the optical fiber and a bear fiber guide(130) extended from the coating fiber guide to the end part of the optical waveguide.
