PURPOSE: A validity deciding method of a recording medium, a system and a program thereof, and a recording medium capable of reading the program by a computer are provided to attempt obtaining intrinsic data of a recording medium, and to decide validity of the recording medium based on the obtained intrinsic data, thereby preventing illegally copied data from being used. CONSTITUTION: A main control device(35) controls an entire host(3). An interface(34) is an interface for two-way communication with an optical disk device(1), and is connected to an ATAPI/SCSI interface of the optical disk device(1). A program described as codes readable by a microcomputer of the main control device(35) is stored in a recording device(33). When the host is driven, the stored program is loaded on a main memory of the main control device(35). A display device(32) displays various information received from the main control device(35).
