The metal band as a liner for decorative or sealing strips of flexible material has a number of successive edge breaks (1,2) extending in the band's longitudinal direction extending from the edge into the middle. In regions (5) which have no edge breaks a number of island penetrations (6) are provided which do not open out in one of the two edges (3,4) and which each have such an opening dimension that the flexible material can penetrate when encasing the band. |
