An electronic gas system connected to a steering element for motorbikes comprises a gas element on the steering turning between full and idling positions and an external position locator comprising a stator and rotor (46) with a toothed engagement to the grip and with a return element giving a play-free grip. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a system as above providing highly exact sensor signals;and (b) a system as above in which cross overloading is not transmitted.
