PURPOSE: A burst-mode optical receiver is provided to remove an offset from an amplifier by converting a single-end output to a differential output. CONSTITUTION: A photo detector(41) is used for converting an inputted optical signal to a current signal. A pre-amplifier(42) is used for converting the current signal to a voltage signal. A single-differential converter(43) is used for converting a single output signal of the pre-amplifier to a differential signal. A post amplifier(44) is used for amplifying the differential signal of the single-differential converter and remove an offset from an amplifying process and an offset from the differential signal. A determination unit(45) is used for deciding data from the differential signal of the post amplifier.
