An aqueous defoaming emulsion (I) comprises: (a) at least one defoaming agent and optionally conventional additives and processing aids that improve the defoaming action and; (b) organopolysiloxane compounds having a viscosity for the siloxane of >=1X106> mPas as an aqueous oil in water emulsion. An independent claim is included for an agent for improving defoaming formulations whereby component (B) is of formula (1) having a viscosity >=1X106> mPas.
