MOLD OPENING/CLOSING SPEED BRAKE DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF USING MAGNETO-RHEOLOGICAL FLUID

PURPOSE: A mold opening/closing speed brake device and a control method thereof using magneto-rheological fluid are provided to control the speed of the opening/closing of a mold using the magneto-rheological fluid in which the aggregation degree of the particles is proportional to the magnitude of the magnetic field. CONSTITUTION: An injection molding machine is composed of a fixable plate(18) attached to a second half mold(21), a movable plate(16) attached to a first half mold(22) with moving along a tiebar, a high-speed moving cylinder(13) operating the movable plate between the opening and closing positions of the mold, and a shape cylinder(12) and ram(14). A mold opening/closing speed brake device(2) is installed between the movable plate and tiebar to between the shape ram and cylinder. The mold opening/closing speed brake device includes a housing installed at the movable plate, magneto-rheological fluid filled in the tiebar, a magnetic core mounted in the housing, and a controller for controlling a current flowing through the magnetic core to control the speed and position of the mold.
