PURPOSE: A device for interfacing master/slave setting on a drive is provided to extend a width of user's selection for the drive by making a design set a cable-select state even if a master/slave selection jumper is opened. CONSTITUTION: A connector(310) connects computer peripheral devices by including terminals for determining a master mode, a slave mode, and a cable-select mode with the jumper. Connecting the connector terminals to an input terminal of a multiplexer(320) and a selection control terminal by a circuit configuration, a master/slave setting interface circuit outputs the first logical state signal representing the master mode to an output terminal if the jumper is connected to the master mode, and outputs the second logical state signal representing the slave mode to the output terminal if the jumper is connected to the slave mode. If the jumper is connected to the cable-select mode or the jumper is opened, the cable-select signal is output to the output terminal.
