Operating system for television receiver

The system has a processor-controlled OSD circuit for generating and blending in operator functions on a display of the television set. A selector circuit selects received selectable information or control data and sends it to the OSD circuit, whose processor dynamically generates the pre-programmed operator selection menu according to a program sing the elected data. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a method of implementing the inventive system.
