<p>The trailing strip (4) is moved by a drive (8). This causes back-and-forth reciprocation at right angles to the direction (L) in which the band travels. The drive is electric, hydraulic or pneumatic, and has a control unit (10). The stroke of the trailing strip is 5-100 mm, preferably 20-50 mm. Its movement is controlled over time, the profile of amplitudes being selectable. The profile is adjustable within time intervals. On the side of the recirculating belt which faces the transverse distribution pipe (6), there is a high pressure cleaner (11). A drive (12) causes oscillation, subjecting the belt to fluid (7) spray between the leading and trailing strips (3, 4).
