PURPOSE: Provided is an optical fiber cable having a buffer tube, which has excellent elastic restorability, is substantially free from decrease in reliability caused by the leakage of a plasticizer, shows excellent connectability and is produced economically. CONSTITUTION: The optical fiber cable has an optical fiber unit comprising at least one optical fiber core mounted in and protected by a buffer tube, wherein the buffer tube is formed of a polymer blend containing 90-99 wt% of a plasticized polyvinyl chloride and 1-10 wt% of chlorinated polyethylene. The buffer tube has a tensile strength of 0.5 to 1 kg/cm2.
