A storage-stable adhesive paste comprises a plurality of first solid particles comprising a surface-protected polyisocyanate and a plurality of second solid particles of a polymer having isocyanate-reactive functional groups. The polyisocyanate particles may be encapsulated by an isocyanate-inert material or by a material that chemically reacts with isocyanate to form a protective surface layer. Preferably, the protecetive layer also is not reactive to the polymer in the second particles. The surface-protected polyisocyanate particle preferably has a melting point between 50 and 180{C. The adhesive may be used to adhere two substrates together, particularly textiles, under conditions of heat and pressure. |
