PURPOSE: A PEN-PVA composite cord for a tire capply is capable of increasing adhesion about rubber, durability and uniformity. CONSTITUTION: A cord for a tire capply comprises a polyethylene naphthalate fiber cord and a polyvinyl alcohol fiber cord. Thickness of the polyethylene naphthalate fiber cord and the polyvinyl alcohol fiber cord is 100-200denier each. Ratio of the polyethylene naphthalate fiber cord and the polyvinyl alcohol fiber cord is 1:1-2 or 1-2:1. On the cord, twist number is 5-60TPI and arrangement density is 10-40EPI.
