COMPOSITION FOR IMPROVING OBESITY WHICH CONTAINS GENISTEIN INCREASING EXPRESSION OF CARNITINE PALMITOYL TRANSFERASE-1 GENE

PURPOSE: Provided is a composition for improving obesity which contains genistein increasing the expression of carnitine palmitoyl transferase-1 gene, and carnitine transferring fatty acid to the mitochondria and facilitating fat burning. CONSTITUTION: The composition for improving obesity is characterized by containing, as an active ingredient, 0.001-30 wt.% of genistein and 0.001-50 wt.% of L-carnitine, based on the total weight of the composition. The genistein increases the expression of carnitine palmitoyl transferase-1 gene, and carnitine transfers fatty acid to the mitochondria and facilitates fat burning.
