METHOD FOR PRODUCING COATED MINERAL SHAPED BODIES

At least partially coated mineral molded articles are prepared by application of an aqueous coating agent, containing a polymer dispersion as binding agent and at least an aqueous styrene-maleic acid anhydride copolymer solution, whereby the aqueous styrene-maleic acid anhydride copolymer solution is added to the polymer dispersion following completion of the polymerization. At least partially coated mineral molded articles are prepared by application of an aqueous coating agent, containing a polymer dispersion as binding agent and at least an aqueous styrene-maleic acid anhydride copolymer solution, onto the surface of the molded article followed by hardening of the molded article and drying of the coating agent whereby the aqueous styrene-maleic acid anhydride copolymer solution is added to the polymer dispersion following completion of the polymerization.
