To degrease a cooker hood (1), using a degreasing liquid (12) containing non-pathogenic microorganisms, at least one venturi sputter jet (10) is mounted at a hood wall (5). The jet is connected to a compressed air supply, as an electromotor compressor (13), and a container (11) for the treatment liquid with an electric pump (23) to form a liquid cloud within the hood. The electricity connection to the compressed air supply and the liquid pump is controlled by a timing programmer (14) to execute one or more cleaning sequences during cooking.
