DAMPER ASSEMBLY OF DRUM WASHING MACHINE, WHICH IS CAPABLE OF PREVENTING NOISE BY OPTIMIZING DAMPING FORCE ACCORDING TO THE OPERATION STATE OF THE WASHING MACHINE

PURPOSE: A damper assembly of a drum washing machine is provided to reduce vibration and to prevent noise by optimizing damping force according to the operation state of the washing machine. CONSTITUTION: A damper assembly(60) comprises a cylinder(62) connected to the lower part of a tub for washing the laundry; a piston(64) movably installed in the end of the cylinder and connected to a base; a damping pad(66) mounted between the cylinder and the piston to move and rub the piston in the cylinder; and a damping force varying unit(70) mounted between the damping pad and the piston to restrict over vibration by increasing friction between the damping pad and the piston by generating electromagnetic force. The damping force varying unit adjusts the friction force between the cylinder and the piston corresponding to relative movement speed between the cylinder and the piston.
