PURPOSE: Provided are compositions of foods and drugs for prevention and treatment of liver diseases containing pinitol or its derivative, chiro-inositol as an active ingredient. The composition reduces concentrations of GOT and GPT when administered into animals and human. CONSTITUTION: The compositions of foods and drugs for prevention and treatment of liver diseases is characterized by containing an effective amount of at least one substance selected from the group consisting of extracts containing pinitol, its derivative, chiro-inositol and their substances.
