The mechanism used to transmit gear stick movement to the gearbox comprises a lever connected to a valve piston so that rotating the lever in a first direction moves the piston into a first position for gear movement transmission in a first direction and rotating the lever in a second direction moves the piston into a second position for gear movement transmission in a second direction. The gear change assisting device comprises a pressurized medium-controlled drive device connected to the gear stick movement transmission mechanism, as a well as a valve which connects the drive device to a pressurized medium source in first and second positions in order for the drive device to provide power assistance during a manual gear change.
