PURPOSE: A painting device is provided to easily and quickly carry out a stage painting on a circumference of a tubular body while maintaining the tubular body in a horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION: The painting device includes a maintaining portion for maintaining a tubular body(R) in a horizontal direction, a rotating member for rotating the tubular body, which is maintained by the maintaining portion, around a rotational axis, a rail(4) placed parallel to the maintaining portion, and a paint spraying portion(5) movable along the rail. The paint spraying portion has a paint tank, and a nozzle pipe for spraying the paint from the paint tank. The paint spraying portion is moved between a contact state at which the nozzle pipe comes into contact with the tubular body and a spacing state at which the nozzle pipe is spaced from the body.
