The housing section (13), designed to be fixed rigidly to a second section (11) to form a radial compressor housing (1), has at least one cavity or hollow space that aligns with a similar one in the second section to form a labyrinth system. The two housing sections are fastened together by a fluid compound or synthetic thermoplastic material that solidifies to form a rigid joint. The aforementioned space or cavity is in the form of a trough, groove or channel and has an inlet (33) and outlet (35) for introducing and removing surplus compound and/or purging or aerating the cavity. The two housing sections can be made from a synthetic thermo-setting material, especially by injection moulding.
