PURPOSE: Provided is a shampoo composition having dandruff suppressing effect. The composition characteristically contains solids which are insoluble in both water and oil, and is thus effective for the safe removal of keratin from the scalp. Consequently it removes dandruff. CONSTITUTION: The shampoo composition having dandruff suppressing effect is characterized by containing solids, such as minerals, resins, metallic materials, fibers, pulverized grain and the like, which are insoluble in both water and oil. When the solids are added to the shampoo or conditioner composition, they remove keratin from the scalp through the physical activity caused by polishing during rinse. The shampoo composition further contains pharmaceutically acceptable dandruff therapeutics or natural product extracts.
