<p>PURPOSE: A system and a method for bearing the shock in a spindle motor bearing are provided to stably resist against the shock of 1000G in a spindle motor by filling a journal with a fluid. CONSTITUTION: A hydrodynamic bearing spindle motor(255) used in a disk drive includes a static member and a rotating member. The static member includes a shaft(275) attached and fixed onto a base(210). The shaft is attached to an upper cover(256) for stabilizing the shaft. The upper and lower ends of the shaft are fixed on the base and the upper cover of the housing. The rotating member includes a hub(260) having at least one magnets(265). The hub is installed on the shaft having a thrust plate(283) on its one end. A fluid is filled in the boundaries between the shaft and a sleeve(280), the thrust plate and the sleeve, and the thrust plate and a shield(282).</p> |
