PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module which can be made small in size and high in intedration, and to provide its manufacturing method and an electronic apparatus. SOLUTION: The optical module includes a substrate 30 with an internal space 32 formed therein, an optical chip 10 with an optical portion 12, a lens 44 provided in the internal space 32 while leaving a space from the optical portion 12, and an integrated circuit chip 70 that is electrically connected to the optical chip 10 and provided on an outer surface of a wall 34 surrounding the internal space 32 in the substrate 30.
