PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder capable of ejecting ink stably through a small and simple arrangement. SOLUTION: When a recording head unit 3 carried on a carriage 3a is accelerated/decelerated, a movable valve 12 provided in a valve movable chamber 3d within the recording head unit moves to a position where communication between a tube 5a and a downstream ink channel 3e is interrupted thus blocking propagation of a dynamic pressure generated in ink in the tube 5a to a recording head 13. When the recording head unit moves at a constant speed or stops, the tube 5a and the downstream ink channel 3e communicate through a communication hole 12a of the movable valve 12 thus feeding ink to the recording head 13 under a constant pressure.
