PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a program, and a device for editing that can set an editing point at an arbitrary position of a bit stream of compressed audio data while avoiding deterioration in sound quality. SOLUTION: The method, program, and device for editing compressed audio data as an embodiment of the present invention extract and decode at the same time a frame of a 1st bit stream including a 1st editing point and a frame of a 2nd bit stream including a 2nd editing point in reproduction of the compressed audio data according to position information specifying the positions of the 1st editing point set in the 1st bit stream of the compressed audio data and the 2nd editing point set in the 2nd bit st ream, and switch the decoding output from the 1st bit stream to the 2nd bit stream when the 1st editing point is reached.
