PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester mottled yarn excellent in weaving/knitting property since it has less quality unevenness, having a good color tone and obtaining fresh shading difference. SOLUTION: This polyester mottled yarn consists of a single yarn formed with thick fineness parts and thin fineness parts in its length direction during its stretching process. The polyester polymer constituting the mottled yarn is obtained by performing the polycondensation of an aromatic dicarboxylate in the presence of a catalyst containing specific titanium compound component and phosphorus compound.
