PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin type projector apparatus which has a small depth size. SOLUTION: The projector apparatus is equipped with an optical unit 1 including a light valve 10 and a projection lens 11 and a hyperbolic mirror 2 which reflects projection light from the optical unit 1 toward a screen 4. Using the hyperbolic mirror 2 makes it possible to make a field angleω1 large while evading interference of the optical unit 1 with the projection light. Consequently, the distance between the screen 4 and the farthest end of the hyperbolic mirror 2 (i.e. the depth size D excluding a mechanism part of the projector apparatus) can be shortened to make the projector apparatus thin.
