In an azimuth measuring apparatus, a pair of independent magnetic field sensors are arranged such that their magnetism sensing directions intersect at an angle in a range of 90 through less than 180 degrees. A bias coil is disposed so as to apply magnetic fields having the same magnitude to the respective two magnetic field sensors in their axial directions. The azimuth is calculated based on the angle at which the magnetism sensing directions of the two magnetic field sensors intersects, the magnetic fields sensed by the two magnetic field sensors, and the magnetic field applied by the bias coil.
