<p>The invention relates to a paint with extended shelf life, finding application in industry, in the house and in other fields. The paint protects to a considerable extent from fire a surface of which the paint is applied, and in many cases increases the corrosion resistance. The paint has a film-binding component, a color-producing component and a fire-retarding component adapted to at least substantially protect from fire a surface of which the paint is applied. The fire-retardant component comprises at last one phosphate or its derivative, such as melamine, polyphosphate, and ammonium polyphosphate. The production method comprises the provision of a film-forming binder component, color-producing component and mixing of the compounds with some of dried powder components and the addition of a fire-retarding component. 11 claims</p> |
