In an instrument (1) for measuring the mechanical properties of skin, e.g. extensibility, two bars (11, 12) are carried integrally by respective jaws (6, 9) of a slide gauge (2); the bars (11, 12) are fixed integrally to respective opposite ends (21, 22) of a dynamometer (3), so that the bars (11, 12) slide axially with respect to each other along a rod (5) of the gauge (2) in opposition to a spring (24) of the dynamometer (3); and, once the bars (11, 12) are fixed to respective portions of a subject's skin, a reading is taken of the distance between the bars (11, 12) as a function of the force exerted by the dynamometer (3).
|
