After the landing of a cage (1), when a landing position of the cage (1) is at a landing level within a predetermined range before a door is opened, an ON signal of a lock-pin pull out direction signal (DLRY) is outputted, a lock pin of a door- locking device (2) is pulled out and locking is released, and door opening operation is started. When the door is closed in door closing operation, the lock pin falls and mechanically locks the door simultaneously with the closure of the door. As a result, the door is locked so that it is not opened unless the door is opened after the landing of the cage, and a passenger can be prevented from falling through the door during up/down of and at an emergency stop of the cage.
