<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out accurate control according to the connected state, regardless of online connection or off line connection, therefore, preventing failure such as an error in size of fed paper and to improve the versatility as an image forming system. <P>SOLUTION: In a stencilling system printing device, a printing device body 2 and large quantity paper feeding unit 3 and a large quantity paper ejection unit 4 are provided as option units. The printing device body 2 is provided with a control program to detect the option unit. The large quantity paper feeding unit 3 and the large quantity paper ejection unit 4 are provided with a control program to detect the printing device body 2. When the large quantity paper feeding unit 3 and the large quantity paper ejection unit 4 are connected, the printing device body 2 carries out online control and when not connected, changes over to off line control.
