PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of the inspection of a battery by a user by opening an engine hood and always enabling the confirmation of a battery state display from the inside of a cabin without attaching/detaching a heat insulating cover, in a state detecting device for the battery. SOLUTION: This device has a detecting part for detecting information showing the battery states such as voltage of the battery, an electrolytic solution level position or specific gravity of electrolytic solution. The device is provided with a display part to notify the user of the information detected by the detecting part. The display part is provided, in contact with a windshield of the vehicle or in the vicinity of the windshield, so that information displayed on the display part may be visualized by the user.
