PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a maintenance/recovery operation by a simple sequence in a short time. SOLUTION: This inkjet recorder has an ink removing/wiping member 16 for cleaning an ejection nozzle face having an ejection nozzle of a recording head 1 formed thereon by removing ink discharged from the ejection nozzle and a capping means 15 for sealing the ejection nozzle of the recording head 1 by being brought into press contact with the ejection nozzle face at the outside of the ink removing/wiping member 16 as a sealing means for sealing the ink ejection nozzle of the recording head 1. Each of a charged belt 5 and a platen 9 has an opening through which ink preliminary ejected from the recording head 1 can pass. When a cap holder 14 having the sealing means is raised, a pair of opening/closing means 17 open the charged belt 5 and the sealing means seals the ejection nozzle of the recording head 1 via the openings of the charged belt 5 and the platen 9.
