PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection surface for a biosensor with reduced non-specific adsorption in a biosensor for the use of a surface plasmon resonance biosensor, and to provide a method of analyzing interaction between biomolecules using the biosensor. SOLUTION: The biosensor comprises a substrate coated with a hydrophobic polymer compound. The biosensor means a sensor which converts the interaction between biomolecules into a signal, such as an electric signal to measure/detect a target substance. A normal biosensor comprises a receptor section which recognizes a chemical substance, which is an object of detection, and a transducer section which converts physical changes or chemical changes occurring at the receptor section into an electric signal. In a living body, there are some substances, having mutual affinity such as enzyme/substrate, enzyme/coenzyme, antigen/antibody, and hormone/receptor. The biosensor utilizes a principle, in which one of the substances, having mutual affinity is used as a molecular recognition substance by immobilizing it to a substrate, in order to selectively measure the corresponding other substance to be made corresponding.
