PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compose a high-dimensional texture of an arbitrary size by use of a plurality of texture images varying according to conditions such as a viewpoint direction and a light source direction. SOLUTION: One or more texture images acquired or created under the plurality of different conditions are inputted as reference texture images, and color information about the same pixel is taken out and arranged to produce a reference high-dimensional texture. The reference high-dimensional texture is quantized by one or more quantization levels, and a code book is produced. A new index image having an arbitrary image size is composed from a reference index image obtained by imaging an index of the reference texture image according to hierarchy of the reference high-dimensional texture corresponding to the quantization level.
