PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment capable of making the kind of a disk corresponding to a command content and the operation content of an application. SOLUTION: A command receiving part 31 receives a command transmitted from external equipment, and transmits the command to a control part 32. A media determination part 30 then determines the kind of an optical disk installed to an optical disk drive 6, and transmits this kind information to the control part 32. A command retrieval part 33 retrieves a command group stored in an assigned command storage part 34. When no assigned command is present, a utility program control part 35 starts a utility program, and a command assignment part 36 generates an assignment command. When an assigned command is present, the command retrieval part 33 transmits the application operation content to an application control part 37, and a CD application 38 or a DVD application 39 is controlled based on this operation content.
