PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for reflecting the change of a sub-VOL by a VOL replica means on a stand-by system. SOLUTION: In an in-use/stand-by system computer system for operating a main volume and a sub-volume by using a volume replica, an in-use system executes the volume replica, and informs the stand-by system that the sub-volume has been changed, and the stand-by system reflects the changed sub-volume information on the stand-by system. Thus, even when any failure is caused in the in-use system, and the system changeover is performed, the sub-volume is accessed based on the information reflected on the stand-by system, and the processing is continued.
