PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of realizing high quality image display by always obtaining appropriate enhancement conversion data and supplying them to a liquid crystal display panel irrespective of the installation mode of the device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with: a temperature sensor 8 for detecting the internal temperature of the device; an installation mode detection part 11 for detecting the installation mode of the device; a control CPU 19 for switching and selecting any of OS table memories (ROM) 1a to 1d on the basis of temperature data obtained by the temperature sensor 8 and installation mode data obtained by the installation mode detection part 11; and an enhancement conversion part 3 for determining an enhancement conversion data (write gradation data) to compensate for the optical response characteristics of a liquid crystal panel 5 by referring to any of the OS table memories (ROM) 1a to 1d selected by switching.
