PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reagent for measuring a substance to be measured in a biological sample, a method of measuring the substance to be measured in the biological sample, and a method of avoiding the influence of bilirubin contained in the biological sample, for preventing the occurrence of errors in measurements influenced by bilirubin contained in the biological sample, and for accurately measuring the substance to be measured in the biological sample in the measurement of the substance to be measured in the biological sample. SOLUTION: The reagent for measuring the substance to be measured in the biological sample has a pH of≥7 and contains zinc ions. The method of measuring the substance to be measured in the biological sample is characterized in that the biological sample is brought into contact with zinc ions under the condition of the pH being 7 or higher. The method of avoiding the influence of bilirubin, contained in the biological sample, is characterized in that the biological sample is brought into contact with zinc ions under the condition of the pH being 7 or higher.
